I don't think race is an issue
also. I don't think cell size will in itself
STOP bees from getting AFB. But by placing bees back on a more
natural
sizing would change the composition of the food in the cell the
larvae feed
upon making for a healthier bee. Which in turn would be able
to defend
better against sickness and disease. In my 1959 copy of ABC XYZ
it clearly
states that as the the cell size was enlarged trying to make
a bigger bee
the composition of the food was changed. However it is still
up to the
beekeeper to remove infected combs. Either destroying them or
processing
them (combs not the bees).
