Hi to all on Biological Beekeeping

I must say I really appreciate all the information I have received from
Dave, Erik, Helmut and Chris and others on OMF.

Depending upon the location, all seem to do it a little differently, but
basically the same. It seems good for getting rid of an overabundance of
moisture and debre problems. It can be used with and without reduced
entrances and it seems with or without above ventilation also depending upon
the beekeepers locality. This is great, the adaptation all have managed, to
make something work in their individual areas.

One last question if I may, so I can pull down plenty of information so I
can have a good discussion at our next bee meeting here locally to get the
beekeepers attending talking. I can see that the size of openings ranges
from 3 inches round to large rectangles with sliding in closures. Question:
Since the OMF are now being talked about for mite control, what size does
the mesh or netting have to be before the mite falls through? Also does it
have to be big enough for drones to get through also?

Thanks alot. All this information is just great to learn and gather, and
compare.

Sincerely,
