Hiya all,
I'm afraid I don't recall the
source, but covering the mesh of an OMF is
highly recomended in Spring, for exactly the reasons Dee cited.
Chalkbrood
is related to temperature, or at least strongly accentuated by
it. I was
close to destroying a chalkbrood riddled colony this Spring (yeah,
me...those girls were suffering) I was urged to wait for higher
temperature.
I'm glad I did, that colony looks fair presently, and in October
NO Chlkbrd
could be found.
