I have seen a Scanning Electro
Micrograph purporting to be of human genes.
I do not know how the size differs between humans and bees.
The SEM was produced by vapourising aluminium onto the specimen.
The definition was poor...the result looked like a piece of "Kellog's
All
Bran" breakfast cereal.

I have an idea that some of
Beo's data on this experiment still exists in
the murky depths of a friend's bee shed. I will tackle him in
a few days (he
is on holiday at the moment).
I thought the awful 'lost pattern'
comb was quite revealing.
