Subject: Re: cell size in supers
Hi friends
One explanation why some have
observed swarms in the wild to use newbuilt
lower wax for brood could be that it is built under frames already
used for
brood and therefore intended by the bees to be used for brood
and therefore
smaller than if it had been built up in a corner where it had
been intended
for honey storage. This observation than also confirms that the
bees and
the queen prefer smaller cell size for brood. This would then
give the bees
some new comb yes, but keep them still in smaller range concerning
their
genetically capacity.
By the way Helmut, in which
country do you live, it would interesting to
know where to put this observation of yours of these small cells
Best regards
