Subject: Re: regressing bees
I currently have a single hive,
which I plan to split in the spring. If I get 4.9mm foundation
from Dadant, and cut it down to fit British National frames,
what's the best strategy for regressing the bees? Do I need to
use
full sheets of foundation, which the larger bees presumably won't
be happy
with, or is it better to use starter strips and let them establish
their own cell size? Do I need to start with all 4.9mm - ie treat
one split like a shook swarm - or will it work to take a colony
in one broodbox and add a second with 4.9mm?
