Hi Dave -
This comb came out of the first
swarm that I hived on starter strips which
was April 26th. By mid June, I shook this hive down again and
put them on
4.9 sheets of foundation. We had a good spring with all the normal
pollen
and nectar sources producing. I have never had to feed pollen
to my bees.
Pollen becomes available here with the pussy willow late March,
early April
and ends up with goldenrod in the fall for over wintering. Hope
this helps.
