Erik,
I used Apistan last year, but didn't use it untill
Sept.. I already had sick bees in Aug. My hive last
year was new, but it was started with a 4 frame nuc
from a hive that had been treated with Apistan for
several years. This year I started with all new
equipment in one hive, the hive from last year was
stripped of all wax and both hives were filled with
4.9 foundation. Both hives were started with bees from
Bolling bee co., which had come from 4.9 hives and had
not been treated with chemicals.

Barry,
I have not noticed chewing out, but that is not
something I have really been looking for, so I cannot
really comment on that.

As for treating my hives, I will not be putting any
chemicals in my hives.

Regards,
Gene
