Yup! They work good. Two in rotation in a hot pot (the kind used by college students) work well. To be honest to wire a frame with a spur embedder takes just a few more seconds than with electric. I actually think you get better depth control with a spur embedder. With a bit of practice one can move right along with them. Speaking of which I think I'll find mine as I may embed a few frames today.

Should start shaking hives down in a week or two, so must get in gear. And some honey liquified.
