You're lucky. With the risk
of taking away some of the success, it though
would be interesting to know if you've measured your foundation
to see if
it's 5.1 or 4.9. What source are your typical American bees?
Your conclusions are correct,
yes, if your foundations are true 4.9 and
your bees are typical American kind of bees, which are common
all over USA.
In Sweden 5% of my bees managed
to do this right away, but my foundation is
4.8. But also my bees are not typical Swedish, but smaller than
average in size.
Hope this experience of yours
will be common.
